San Beda College’s red lions defeated the Mapua Institute of Technology, in a 74-64, in the NCAA seniors’ basketball semifinals on September 12 at the Araneta Coliseum.
“I knew it was not going to be easy. They still have the fighting heart,” SBC coach Frankie Lim said of Mapua. “I respect the organization, I respect coach Leo (Isaac).”
Aljamal, who missed the final two games of the eliminations, fired up with 26 points on 10/16 accuracy along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Pong Escobal scored 13 despite shooting only 29% at the field. He however concocted seven boards and nine assists.
