Rey "the chosen one" San Juan and Alben " ben ten" Dacanay have a very very not so hard time competing with the guys in 1d.

PBA UPDATE!! DECEMBER 25 CHRISTMAS WARS!

DEFENDING champion Barangay Ginebra defeated league leader Purefoods with a nail-biting 100-98 win in the 2007-08 PBA Smart Philippine Cup Christmas offering before an overflow crowd at the Araneta Coliseum.

Sunday Salvacion buried a three-pointer with 57.4 seconds to go that gave the Kings the lead, 95-93, while Rafi Reavis provided the defensive stops down the stretch to snatch the victory.

The Kings improved their win-loss record to 7-8, while derailing the Giants’ bid for earning at least a playoff berth for one of the two outright semifinal seats. It also avenged a humiliating 103-76 first round setback.

“It’s a good Christmas gift,” Ginebra coach Jong Uichico said, whose team improved to 3-1 on Christmas Day games.

“I hope we can carry it over to next year’s games. Let’s see what happens. We’re close to getting to the wild card. I don’t know if we can get to the quarters, but that’s what we’re hoping for,” he added.

Salvacion had 21 points for Ginebra. Eric Menk also collected 21 while adding 11 rebounds. Reavis also had a double-double with 10 points and 14 boards.

Ginebra made 5-of-6 free throws in the final 19.1 seconds left. Reavis’ two foul shots gave the Kings a 98-93 lead with 14.6 seconds to go, but Purefoods rookie Rob Sanz buried a triple to make it 96-98 with 7.5 seconds to play.

Prior to his free throws, Reavis made a big steal when he tapped the leather from Kerby Raymundo. He also had an offensive rebound of a missed triple by PJ Simon.

Menk sealed it with two more foul shots with 5.9 seconds, 100-96.

The Giants led by as may as 19 points, 30-11, late in the first period following back-to-back triples by Roger Yap and Simon.

But the Kings were able to cut it to 42-38 before settling for a 48-41 count at the half.

Things got a little tense with 4:11 left in the second period with Purefoods ahead, 33-41, when Tubid and rookie Ardy Larong got tangled under the Ginebra basket.

Helterbrand and Larong engaged in a verbal altercation and both were given technical fouls. Also handed a technical each were coaches Ryan Gregorio of Purefoods and Jong Uichico of Ginebra.

The Giants shot 41.5 percent (17-of-41) from the field while the Kings made 36.1 percent (13-of-36) of their shots. Purefoods also outrebounded Ginebra in the first half, 31 to 21. (WG)

the latest news is the return of mark "the spark" Caguioa. Mark Caguioa came out flat in his return from a six-game layoff. Worse, the Kings conked out at endgame as they suffered a fifth loss in seven games – just half-game in front of cellar-dweller Coca-Cola at 1-5.

Hit by a shoulder injury in the recent Fiba-Asia championship in Tokushima, Caguioa returned to action for the Kings in a game marked by several player hard falls, at least two heated confrontations and no less than four technical fouls.

The Express overcame the Kings in the tense and rugged contest, scoring some measure of revenge against the team which swept them in four matches last season.

"This is a big win coming at the expense of Ginebra which we’d never beaten in a while. Na-break na namin ang jinx," said Air21 coach Bo Perasol.

"It’s also a big win because we snapped a two-game slump. Tuwing natatalo kami, nagkakaroon ng kung anong issue. Ang sabi ko lang isang panalo lang ang kailangan at tapos uli ang usapan," Perasol added.

Ranidel de Ocampo and Arwind Santos each scored 23 points and helped fuel the Air21 uprising, combining for 15 in the payoff period.

Jayjay Helterbrand scored 22 points to pace the Kingswho drew only six points from Caguioa, the league two-time reigning scoring champ.

Caguioa was 0-of-3 from the three-point range and 1-of-2 from the two-point zone in the first half taken by the Kings at 48-42.

The Kings enjoyed the six-point lead at halftime with Mike Holper, Sunday Salvacion and Helterbrand delivering for the team early on.

Holper was 3-of-5 from the field and knocked in three charities while Salvacion nailed two triples, a twinner and a foul shot as they made nine points each in the first 24 minutes of play.

The Kings engaged the Express in two deadlocks and five lead changes and surged ahead at the half although worse in shooting with a 37.2 percent clip as against the Air21’s 40.5-percent marksmanship. (NC)

San Beda Red Lions Sweep the Letran Knights For Back to Back Title!

San Beda College is on its way on fulfilling its destiny to become a dynasty, overcoming Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 76-64, for the Red Lions’ second consecutive NCAA seniors basketball diadem on September 26 at the Araneta Coliseum.

With Letran coming within five late in the third quarter, the Lions held off the Knights in the payoff period with Rogemar Menor scoring 12 points. His three-point attempt that bounced off the rim before going in gave San Beda a 13-point lead, 64-51, 6:45 in the game, forcing CSJL seniors basketball coach Louie Alas to call a timeout.

The finals MVP stole one at midcourt for an uncontested layup, which spawned a 7-0 run to put away the game for good with John Paul Escobal putting the icing with two freethrows against Reymar Gutilban's fifth personal foul, 71-55, 4:16.

"It feels great and very rewarding. I have to give it to the players. They have confidence at may puso," sighed a relieved SBC men's basketball mentor Frankie Lim. "Do no doubt yourself. Kung gusto niyong tumira, take good shots."

Alas concurred, "We just lost to a very strong team. You have to give it to them. Napakalakas ng kanilang personnel. Sa aking opinyon, sila ang strongest collegiate team sa Pilipinas."

Menor, who won two finals MVP and a season MVP as a Red Cub, was the main Lion with 25 points on 11/16 shooting along with three rebounds, two steals, and two assists.

"Hell of a player. No one in Letran can stop Menor," Lim described his third year star.

"Sobrang saya. Naulit ulit iyong dynasty namin sa juniors," Menor, who was with the NCAA juniors champion teams from 2003-2005, observed on his fortunes. "Iyong juniors lamang daw ako (skills-wise). Sa seniors, pantay na labanan."

Yousif Aljamal suited up for his final game as an amateur, finishing with 24 points, ten boards, three feeds, two steals, and two blocks on 37 well-played minutes.

"Kay coach inoffer ang championship," Aljamal shared. The 24-year old would again team up with his current mentor, who is also the team manager of the Talk 'N Text Phonepals in the PBA. "Sana madala ko sa PBA ito (confidence)."

"It would always be nice to get back to your alma mater. I want to give back to the school," the rookie guru said. "I am just blessed to have 15 intelligent players."

The red and white shot 52% at the two-point area, while also amassing 50 caroms, 20 dimes, seven cookies, nine rejections, 16 fastbreak points, and 19 turnover points.

"This victory is for everybody," Lim doled out. "For the Bedan community and the supporters."

On the other hand, Bryan Faundo led the Knights with 17 points and ten rebounds, while RJ Jazul netted 14 markers. As a team, the red and blue made 35% of their field goals.

"You have to feel good on the defeat," Alas opined. "I will remember this day. This is the defining moment to come back next year."

Lim, who experienced back-to-back championships as a player and now as a tactician stated, "Both are great. Since this is my first time as a coach, this is sweeter."

Alas looked back, "Iyong game one ang crucial. Sa ganyang kalakas na team, mahirap talunin ng back-to-back."

This is the Lions' 13th seniors cage crown, just behind the 15 of Letran College.

Adjudged as the coach of the year, the fiery Lim gave what might have been the strangest description of how it feels winning a championship after he was asked what his emotions were after getting the victory ride at the buzzer, "Feeling ko parang akong bagong kasal."

Meanwhile, Alas described the mood in the locker, "Malungkot sila for Mikko (Quinday)."

Quinday used up his eligibility this year.

Do-it-all Mapua Institute of Technology point guard Kelvin dela Peña was awarded the MVP of the season. He was joined by Aljamal, Faundo, Dino Daa, and Marvin Hayes of Jose Rizal University in the mythical team.

Other awardees include Hayes as most improved player, Dave Marcelo as rookie of the year, and Jason Ballesteros of San Sebastian College Recoletos as defensive player of the year.

Rey Dangcal's split at the trip 3:56 of the first quarter was the last time CSJL enjoyed the upper hand before SBC released a 15-0 finishing kick with Riego Gamalinda scoring the last six points, 26-12.

"We started strong," Lim remarked as the key point of the contest. "We tried to match the intensity of Letran."

Faundo's charities off a Menor personal made it 24-34, 4:16 in the second. Menor was responsible for five points in a 7-0 mini-run to give the Mendiola-based squad its highest lead of 17.

After Escobal launched a three to make it 52-35 midway of the third period, Letran had a quiet 12-0 blast with Jazul starting the rally and the Muralla-based gallery momentarily waking up when John Melegrito scored four quick points, 1:38 in the clock. The Lions doused the fire in the succeeding possession when Escobal sighted Aljamal at the apex of the arc for a triple with just one second remaining in the shot clock.

"Definitely we will not look for a foreigner as long as ako ang mag-decide," Alas glimpsed ahead. "Pwede sa akin Fil-foreigner."

As for the champs, Lim mentioned, "Pahinga muna. Give them a good rest."

San Beda Takes First Game! REDLIONS (1) vs KNIGHTS(0)

San Beda College went alive in the fourth quarter to defeat Colegio de San Juan de Letran and take the first game of the NCAA seniors basketball finals, 76-68, at the Araneta Coliseum on September 19. The Knights settled for freethrows for four minutes of the payoff quarter as SBC released a 10-4 run ending with a Sam Ekwe follow off Ogie Menor’s missed lay, 72-61, :50 left in the game. This was also the biggest lead of the game which featured 11 deadlocks and eight lead changes.

“It was not easy. That is a fact,” relayed San Beda seniors basketball coach Frankie Lim. “We struggled offensively in the first three quarters because of the defense of Letran.”

Menor led the Red Lions with Ogie Menor scoring 23 points on 10/14 shooting on 31 minutes.

“Medyo relax kami,” Menor echoed. “Ginising kami ni coach. Kailangang pantayin namin intensity nila.”

The third year swingman provided the wake up call, driving off two Knights at the middle of the lane. He then followed it up with a three at the top of the key, receiving a handoff and a screen from Borgie Hermida, giving the San Beda gallery a kiss, 58-53, 6:38 of the fourth quarter.

“Kailangan kong itira dahil iyon ang play,” Menor mentioned. “Malaki tiwala ni coach sa akin.”

Pong Escobal produced 17 points, going 6/11, seven rebounds, five assists, and eight turnovers. Ekwe went without rest for 14 markers, 18 boards, and four blocks. Yousif Aljamal made 12.

Four of the five starters logged at least 30 minutes.

“Kung hindi kami nagkaroon ng lapses,” CSJL mentor Louie Alas thought loudly. “Mental lapse lang talaga. Doon kami nag-error.”

RJ Jazul had 17 points, five rebounds, and five miscues. Rey Guevarra was the other double digit scorer for the Muralla-based squad with 11. Bryan Faundo finished with nine and seven boards.

“We just played 36 minutes of good basketball,” Alas philosophized.

Game two of the storied rivalry would be on September 26 at the Big Dome with the third match slated on September 28. It seems that everybody is on the same page on what to expect next week.

“I will be expecting a harder second game next week,” Lim stated.

“Expect ko sa game two mas grabe sa intensity,” Menor concurred.

“We just have to execute 40 minutes,” shared Alas. “We just have to win on Wednesday and everybody’s ballgame na sa third game.”

The first quarter started off on equal footing, having four ties. With both sides working to a 12-all count, the blue and red scorched an 11-2 ram to finish off the final three minutes of the period. Kirk del Rosario fed to Dino Daa, who was free underneath for lay in, :37 in the clock.

The Mendiola side then retaliated with a 16-2 start in the second. Escobal quickly advanced upcourt to avert the pressure then passed off to Menor for a quick release three at the side, 30-25, 3:44.

Scoring became scarce in the third canto as two consecutive Ekwe sky hooks provided the only highlight for the ten-minute period to have the Lions go up, 46-42, 3:53. The last time Letran was ahead, it was from a Jazul inside basket, battling against giants, after grabbing the offensive board, 51-50, one minute elapsed in the final quarter.

Aljamal’s three-pointer at the summit was the battle’s last lead change, 53-51, 8:15.

“Looking at Wednesday, we will go for it,” Lim predicted.

Letran Duels San beda NCAA finals!

San Beda College’s red lions defeated the Mapua Institute of Technology, in a 74-64, in the NCAA seniors’ basketball semifinals on September 12 at the Araneta Coliseum.

“I knew it was not going to be easy. They still have the fighting heart,” SBC coach Frankie Lim said of Mapua. “I respect the organization, I respect coach Leo (Isaac).”

Aljamal, who missed the final two games of the eliminations, fired up with 26 points on 10/16 accuracy along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Pong Escobal scored 13 despite shooting only 29% at the field. He however concocted seven boards and nine assists.

“Siguro may kasamang gigil pero I just played my own game,” Aljamal mentioned.

Kelvin dela Peña candidate for MVP this season end up in a glimpse of being in the finals as he finish with 14 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and four turnovers on 37 minutes

University of The East One Last battle for a sweep!

University of the East was not subtle with its message to De La Salle University as the Red Warriors shackled, locked down, and caged University of the Philippines, 99-59. UE started off with a 21-4 breakaway in the first quarter. But the worst was yet to come as Mark Fampulme fed Pari Llagas for an inside foray, 83-37, 7:07 of the fourth.

The powerhouse team of UE with the ace players Marcelino Arellano , J martinez, Elmer Espiritu and Marc Borboran. Finds the UAAP season will be a easy 1,2,3 sweep! last stop against the returning De La Salle University.

According to Dindo Pumaren coach of UE “Si (Rico) Maierhofer bumalik na ang laro. Sana sa Thursday mawala ulit.”

“Away muna kami (with elder brother Franz).”

The UE red warriors hauled 61 rebounds , and committed only 16 errors while converting 29 turnover points themselves.

Kobe Bryant Super Natural TOUR!

Kobe Bryant’s Sept. 5 Manila visit begins with the basketball superstar meeting kids from Eliseo Belen Charity at Nike Park, The Fort at 2 PM. Aside from being a worldwide basketball phenomenon, Kobe Bryant is also known for his generosity in bringing smiles to kids worldwide and his one-day visit in Manila begins with Kobe spreading smiles to Filipino youth, Nike Philippines disclosed recently.

In the afternoon, Kobe will headline the Kobe Supernatural Manila Event at the Phil Sports Arena (Ultra) where he will share his training regimen with young Filipino ballers. Gates will open at 3PM.
Tickets to the Kobe Supernatural Manila Event will be distributed for one day only on September 1st 12:00PM at Nike Park, The Fort. Tickets are free of charge on a first come, first serve basis and only two tickets will be given per person.

Yesterday me and my pal Rey "Passer Beater" San Juan ended are Loosing streak by beating two of the best shooters in phase 1d Ryan Jake "Reggie Miller" And his brother Known as the "Catapult shooter". Well its raining jump shots.

Earlier today both of my friends teamed up Rey and Alben "3 guy" Dacanay
Against me Guian Querubin and Boy Hapet ( from 1d ) surprisingly we won the game. the score is 15- 9 thanks to my dam teammate Boy hapet even if i accidentally throw the ball in the water filled with sharks he'll jump there and get that dam ball. Now thats boy hapet.

5. Keep it cool: When the situation gets hot be calm, example your school enemy is waiting for you in the corridor to beat the hell out of your ass. Just be calm and focus! don't be hysterical!! plan your move.

6. Chin Up: Even when things get crappy you got to chin up! So people will think that your not being affected by the problem.

7. Believe in yourself: You can do it when you believe. Nothing is impossible when you believe.. believe in yourself that you can do anything you can get high grades you can shoot the ball you can win a ball game you can overcome anything you can kick everyones ass! and believe in God.

is a on-line role playing game. Not like Ragnarok. this is a low quality RPG!
but guys.. its hell of a fun!

imaging creating your own pokemon team. raising pokemon , battle trainers , make new friends , earn badges , being a part of a guild , trade pokemon and a whole lot more.

I know what you guys think. that playing POKEMON is kinda childish and when somebody sees you they might think that your immature.. thats shit!

Another Day

Whew! what a day. today is August 19, 2007 time flies so fast! ( its Sunday )

i spend my day sleeping and doing house work. Usually every Sunday me and my friends play basketball. but this time things get a little crappy.

because of the rain. its rainy season again!! all the courts here in my place are all dam wet!

Lucky tomorrow is a holiday, we'll just move r basketball schedule tomorrow Monday.

Me and my best friend are in a loosing streak. Hope we get are luck tomorrow.
